Where to start

We start every bathroom reno by defining the opportunities for the shower. Within our renovation work, we provide tiled showers. But there are so many options. Some questions  we ask,

  • curb or curbless?
  • drain style? drain location?
  • tile finish - envelope cut? mosaic?
  • what size is the footprint?

We specify Schluter® shower bases in all of our projects. Some of the key benefits include: Strength - works even with small format tile; Waterproof - integrated waterproofing to stop leaks, mold and mildew; Thin - the KERDI-SHOWER-TT trays work for a curbless design; Light - easy handling and installation.

Within the shower bases from Schluter®, they are broken down into two primary groups - point drain, and linear drain. These are grouped together as KERDI-SHOWER-T/-TS/-TT and KERDI-SHOWER-LT/-LTS (linear drain).

The KERDI-SHOWER-TT collection offer a thin perimeter and centre drain placement, and an optional neo angle design.

The KERDI-SHOWER-T collection includes standard trays with centre drain placement.

Alternately, the KERDI-SHOWER-TS is a standard tray with off-centre drain placement - these are our favourite when the plan is to replace an existing tub with a new shower; one of our most popular projects.

The linear drain trays also include options for either a centre drain or perimeter location.

The centre drain collection identified as KERDI-SHOWER-LT and the perimeter drains are identified as KERDI-SHOWER-LTS.

Next decision? To bench or no bench.
